FOB2Y- Christmas shopping

I shop a little here and there throughout the year, but once Halloween is over it is all out getting it done this year. Other years it creeps up on me and then it is Thanksgiving and bam! I'm in the malls with all the other crazy shoppers. So this year, I'm starting early!

First off the new stuff: Stampy Alphas!!! I love alphas, seriously it is probably the ONLY thing I have totally organized in ACDSee because I use them all the time and need to be able to see them/find them. And so when a new alpha comes out and it is so versatile as these, I just get giddy!

FOB2Y - Favorite Season

My favorite season depends on where we are stationed. In Virginia and Ohio it was definitely Fall because of the leaves and the crispness in the air.

Here in Texas, I think (I've only been here a year) it is spring. I love the flowers popping up and the coolness is still in the air. The days are getting longer and the grass is green. We have lots of birthday celebrations in the spring and Easter too. So Spring in Texas is the best for as long as it lasts!

We don't do Fairs....anymore!

The last time DH and I went to a fair was before kids. We rode the rides (I realized I was old) and ate and looked. It was fun and even though I did get a little queasy, I loved the thrill of adrenaline on the rides. But DH was like 'eh. (Go figure the man has flown the {then} best fighter jet in the USAF, I guess a little dinky roller coaster doesn't compare!)

And now with two little kids, and the peanut/nut allergy thing, I just don't feel like putting us through that. The animals and exhibits may be interesting for the boys a little later, but right now after 5 minutes they would be done. And after living and visiting BG with both of them....our expectations are set a little high. So no thanks...we'll stay home!

Nikki just came out with this new adorable girly kit, and thank goodness I have tons of girl pics now of Lila and me and Sarah to work with! Doesn't the color combo just make you smile!
I loved this pic of me and my niece, something about the angle and it actually has me in the photo! Go figure! Oh and I'm saying Lila's adorable not me, of course!

Kindergarten Bound

Evan just finished his first week of Kindergarten and he is happy but TIRED. I'm sure he'll adjust to the schedule soon enough.

Yes it is still hot here. 105 yesterday and only 103 today. We were praying for some rain to come wash some of this heat away for a couple days. Not fun for those of us walking to school!!

SSD FOB2Y 3/12/09

Girl scout cookies...
I avoid them now. I used to buy them, then eat the whole box in one sitting. I have no self control when it comes to the thin mint frozen in my nifty little freezer. They just jump out of the box and into my mouth, no hands required. I say I will only eat one or two or ten and then the box just vanishes, I lay on the couch groaning "WHY!" and vow to not do it again. Which I do the next time I buy some. So I've stopped buying them. Now I just hand over a five or ten to the little girl and tell her to eat them for me. Stomach surgery is just too expensive to keep going down that road!
